Birmyiv

This project centred on the creation of birmyiv, an MMO/MMORPG developed collaboratively in response to a brief to design a “portal” between Birmingham, England and Kyiv, Ukraine. Through research into cultural representation and community-driven play, the game concept was built around nostalgia, using bright pixel-art visuals to evoke a playful, childhood atmosphere.
Set within a primary school, birmyiv enables players to customise their avatars, interact with others, and discover elements of each city’s culture through exploration and shared activities. The project blends cultural exchange with social gameplay to create a welcoming, educational online world.
